Week commencing 24th September


Photos

The professional photos are back. I may be biased but our children are gorgeous!!!!!

Please can you make sure all photos or orders are returned by Friday 21st.

 

Child’s contact details

Everyone should have received their new child details forms by now. Please can you return them to us as soon as possible so that we can make sure we have the correct details to contact you and your emergency contact people.

 

School leavers 2013

It is time to start thinking about applying for a school for your child. Information on how to do this is available in the hallway along with our “going to school” pack.

 

This week’s activities

Each key person will be responsible for designing an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.

If the key person is on holiday or off, another staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the children do not miss out.

 

Buttercups

Monday- Charlotte’s group are going to be using rollers, cutters and moulds as they explore the playdough.

Tuesday - Nilem’s group will be building self awareness as they pick out their own coats and shoes as they go outside.

Wednesday - Emma J’s group is using rollers and stampers in the paint as they explore pattern and texture.

Thursday - Nilem’s group are developing their language skills as they play outside.

Friday - Emma H’s group are getting physical as they roll balls to each other.

Charlotte is off Friday, Emma H is off Tuesday and Friday, Emma J is off Monday and Nilem is off all week.

 

Bluebells

Monday – Cristina’s group will be reading the story “ Don’t Count Your Chickens”

Tuesday – Cristina’s group are going to be playing the game “Simon Says” as they develop listening skills.

Wednesday – Donna’s group are developing their self-confidence as they spend time with their friends.

Thursday – Donna’s group will be singing nursery rhymes as they develop language skills.

Friday – Cristina’s group is having a picnic with the teddies as they explore imaginatively.

Donna is off Monday and Cristina is off Thursday.

 

Sunflowers

The topic for September and October is ‘Myself’ and ‘My Family’. If you have anything at home that links to this topic please can we have it for our interest table? Please make sure any items brought in are labelled.

Please can you bring in family photos for the children to share as part of their work on families.

Monday – Alison’s group are developing gross motor skills as they practise catching and throwing.

Tuesday – Chloe’s group will be looking at different shapes and naming them.

Wednesday – Alison’s group are looking carefully at objects associated with Autumn and identifying their characteristics.

Thursday – Josie’s group is working as a team to build train tracks.

Friday – Jess’s group will be reading “Stickman” and talking about it afterwards.

Jess is off Monday, Josie is off Tuesday, Chloe is off Wednesday and Alison does 9.30-2.30 Monday to Thursday.

Week commencing 17th September


Dear Parents

 

Child’s contact details

The new contact details forms are on their way to every parent. Please can you complete them and return them to us.

The staff in your child’s room will be handing these out. It is important for us to maintain up to date contact details in case of emergency and would like to thank you in advance for completing them.

 

Buggy sheds

The new buggy sheds are being built next week! From Tuesday (18th) please use the outdoor classroom to store your buggies, if you’re not sure where to go just ask!

The new sheds should be completed by the end of the week. These will have lights inside to enable you to find the right buggy as the nights get darker.

For any parents that missed the getting ready for School presentation, the information pack along with the applying for school leaflets are in the hallway. Please take one.

Wednesday – Emma H’s group will be getting creative as they paint with their bodies.

Thursday - Nilem’s group are exploring their body parts as they sing songs such as Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

Friday – Emma J’s group is  going to be playing with the vehicles and exploring what sounds they make.

Charlotte is off Friday, Emma H is off Tuesday and Thursday, Emma J is off Monday and Nilem is off Friday.

Tuesday – Donna’s  group are going to be exploring shapes in the environment.

Wednesday – Cristina’s group is reading the storyShark in the Park using sign language.

Thursday – Donna’s group is getting musical as they sing nursery rhymes.

Friday – Cristina’s group are practising their speaking skills as they talk about feelings.

Donna is off Friday, Cristina is off Thursday and Chloe is on holiday all week.

week commencing 10th September


Nursery Photographer

The photographer will be coming to the nursery this Monday (10th September).

Every child who is in on Monday can have their picture taken and if your child is not in on Mondays you can come in between 11.30- 2.30 to have your photo taken. We can take pictures of siblings and family groups too so bring the whole gang!

 

Parents Evening

Parents Evening is  this Tuesday (11th September). We will be open from 6.45 – 8.30 for Parents to drop in and have a chat with staff. We will be showing you your child’s learning journey book and talking about how they have been progressing.

We are also holding a “getting ready for school” presentation for the parents of the Sunflowers children. This will be between 6.30 -6.45. Jess and Josie will be unable to attend Parent’s evening but their key families are more than welcome to talk to Alison or Chloe or make an appointment to see them another time.

New Buggy sheds

In the next few weeks we will be getting rid of our very well used buggy sheds and getting shiny new ones! However we still have two abandoned buggies in the buggy sheds. One is a black quinny the other is a red chicco.

If these are yours please can you collect them or they will be re-homed when the new buggy sheds arrive.

Wednesday – Emma H’s group will be getting moving as they dance, wiggle and jump to music!

Thursday – Emma J’s group is going to be exploring corn flour gloop.

Friday – Emma H’s group is practising sharing with our friends.

Charlotte is off Fridays, Emma H is off Tuesday and Thursdays, Emma J is off Mondays and Nilem is off Fridays.

Tuesday – Donna’s group are building their vocabulary as they read stories.

Wednesday – Cristina’s group will be practising their counting skills with the compare bears.

Thursday – Donna’s group is going to be having fun building train tracks.

Friday – Cristina’s group will be getting physical as they move their bodies in the garden.

Donna is off Fridays and Cristina is off Thursdays
